Minimum Edge Distances in line with BS 5950-1 2000  "Structural use of steelwork in building. Code of practice for design. Rolled and welded sections".

Note the following clearance depend on the manufacture of the plate.
B - To a sheared or hand flame cut edge
C - To a rolled, sawn, planed or machine flame cut edge.
